If you can't take the heat...

...then just shut the hell up.

Enough whining about the heat already. It's July in DC. It's going to be hazy, hot, ungodly humid with a chance of an evening thunderstorm every day for the next 4-6 weeks. It's like this every year. Stop acting like it's a big surprise and that it's the end of the world.

You're not allowed to complain unless you're required to stand outside all day, or until it hits 100 degrees. And that's the actual temperature - not the "humiture" or the "heat index" or whatever Accuweather tool you're using to make people think it's 10 degrees hotter than it actually is.

Bring in your pets. Bring in your old people. Pop a cold one. You'll survive.

Comments:
I say Hallelujah! If you don't like it, you can move I say. It's not any better south of DC, except right on the water, and at the moment it's crammed to the hilt with people from NJ. I still wonder about people who choose to come to visit DC in July, but school's out so I guess this it. Personally I'd say August is best.

Buncha whiners. In Europe, Asia & Africa most people don't have A/C. They can complain, you can't. End of story.

Great post! I totally agree. I get so tired of people acting like it's never been hot before. Just take off all your clothes and enjoy the heat! You'll all be whining about how cold it is soon enough! Enjoy the summer while it's here.

It's just so, so hot. So very hot. Burning pavement hot. Just so hot.
