I'm not dead yet
Wow - It's been a while since I've been on here. I'd like to say I've been really busy doing lots of fascinating things, but that's not really true. Let's catch up....shall we?
The best thing I've done over the last couple of months was go on a real vacation. Work was starting to suck...I was getting really stressed out...I just came home and demanded that we go on vacation ASAP. So we ended up hopping on JetBlue and headed to Fort Lauderdale for about a week. It was hot as hell, but we had a great time. Exactly what I needed. We stayed at The Worthington. Great place. Highly recommended. Spent a few days at the beach and a few days just laying by the pool. We're already contemplating another trip there before the year's over.
Other stuff...hmm... His new real estate career is working out great. That job's a perfect fit for him.
Music-wise, I've been to a handful of shows. The best of which included David Bowie, Franz Ferdinand and The Carlsonics. The worst was The Beastie Boys. They showed up 3 hours late and played for less than one hour. I shouldn't say worst...more like "very disappointing". The most disappointing, however, was The Slickee Boys. They usually only play one show a year - at Christmastime. They were scheduled to do an outdoor show at Strathmore in early July. They played, but had to stop the show about 5 songs into it because of rain. The Slickee Boys are my all-time favorite DC band. I was crushed that they had to cancel.
We may be having a party in a few weeks. BF wants to rent a frozen drink machine. That means trouble.
That's all for now. I'll try to get better about keeping this up-to-date.
